promotion of the corporation Bill to extend free travel on the city's buses would not be proceeded with in the present Parliamentary session.
A report of the general purposes committee stated that the officers of both Houses advised that no question or Bill which was substantially the same as one on which their judgment had been given in the same session should be offered in either House.
The corporation's Bill seeking power to grant free travel facilities to old and disabled people and half-fares for . children was rejected by a select committee of the House of Lords in July.
