Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Commission for Europe's Inland Transport Committee held their fifth session in Geneva recently. Representatives from 10 countries, including the United Kingdom, and a .number of international organizations, attended.

Among the subjects studied were rules to be applied for safety purposes, problems connected with equipment for door-to-door transport, and standardization of containers.

On the question of safety standards, the working party asked the International Container Bureau to prepare, in close collaboration with other international organizations, a set of draft requirements applicable in international traffic for the protection of carriers, their agents and other persons.

Experts appointed by the United Kingdom, France and the Western Zones of Germany, and by any country making a special request, were asked to review the draft, which will be transmitted to Governments and subsequently examined by the working party.

It was agreed that the International Union of Railways should study in close co-operation with the International Road Transport Union the technical and tariff problems associated with the development of road-rail equipment.

The next session of the working party will be held in the autumn of 1956. ,
