Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

IF the charges scheme of the Transport

Tribunal were given effect, the British Transport Commission would possess a quasi-monopoly of trunk services. British Road Services and the railways would then "gang up to dictate the mode of transport" and deprive users of their freedom of choice. C-licence holders operated some 50 per cent. more heavy vehicles than other carriers and were the only operators who could meet the challenge.

This warning was given by Mr. C. E. Jordan, divisional chairman of the Traders' Road Transport Association, at the dinner of the Wolverhampton Area of the Association which was held last week.

With regard to traffic, congestion in towns caused by private cars, Mr. Jordan suggested that a delegation should be sent to America to study the problem. ThL T.R.T.A. would fight to the bitter end any legislation against waiting by delivery vehicles in business hours.
