REFERENCE to the " niggardly way" in which Greenock Motor Services, Ltd., had been treated in its efforts to establish a .bus station and ' workshops on part of the site of the
• former Caird shipyard at Greenock was contained in a resolution passed by the local passenger service branch of the Transport and General Workers' Union.
The resolution, which has been sent to the Ministry of Transport, followed the Admiralty's decision to allocate the largest part of the yard for use as a Naval store. It was stated that the erection of a repair workshop in Greenock would provide additional employment for 200 men.
