Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A CHESHIRE-based transport firm with authorisation to run 15 LGVs has entered administration less than 12 months after setting up.

Administrators from RSM Tenon were appointed to Winsford-based Duckworth & Sons Transport on 17 July and, according to a spokesman, they are now making enquiries into how the firm struggled to trade so soon after being incorporated. RSM Tenon was appointed by the company’s charge holder.

According to records filed at Companies House, Duckworth & Sons created a debenture securing up to £500,000 for charge holder XL Capital in November 2011, three months after it was set up. The firm has one director, Lee Duckworth, who was also a director at Ray Duckworth Distribution until his resignation in October. Both firms share the same registered office address. As CM went to press, calls to the firm’s office remained unanswered.
