Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I'm an owner-driver thinking of branching out into European runs. What documentation do I need to take?

When you drive to the Continent you must carry your international licence, insurance certificate and vehicle registration document. When you are carrying goods to Europe for hire or reward under the provision of the Convention on the Contract for the International Carriage of Goods by road (CMR), this must be recorded on CMR consignment notes. These consignment notes confirm that carriage is being undertaken in agreement with the CMR Convention.

There are four copies of the document — the consignor keeps one copy, one copy goes to the consignee, one copy must travel with the vehicle and the last copy is kept on file by the originator.

Separate consignment notes can be made for the individual parts of the load.
