Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Midlands-based operator PMT is replacing its doubledeckers with 20 full size singledeck buses.

The £1.5m deal is the second stage of a five-year vehicle replacement programme which will cost the company 211m.

All 20 buses will replace double-deckers on the busy 24 service from Kidsgrove-Meir which runs north-south through Stoke-on-Trent. They are the first new single-deckers for the Burslem depot since 1984.

Nine 48-seat Optare Deltas will be evaluated alongside 11 48-seat Leyland Lynxes, to find the right vehicle for the company's future replacement programme.

Both units are fitted with high-back coach seats in a move to improve passenger comfort.
