• A fleet of 14 Dennis Darts, worth 254,000 each, have joined R&1 Tours to operate two newly acquired London Regional Transport-tendered services in North London.
The 36-seaters are Carlylebodied and have room for 15 standing. They are powered by a rear-mounted 130bhp turbocharged Cummins engine through an Allison four-speed automatic gearbox and an Eaton rear axle.
The 9m-long vehicles operate between Kings Cross and Finchley Road, and Brent Cross-Archway. They bring R&I's fleet up to 90 buses and coaches, and are the biggest intake for the London-based firrn.
