• Drivers in the M25 area in Surrey will, for the next month, be regaled by advertisements on local radio stations warning them to slow down. Radio Mercury and County Sound will carry the advertisements, which should be heard over an 80km stretch of the M25, between Sevenoaks and Heathrow.
El The frequencies of local radio stations offering news of road conditions in their areas are already signposted along many sections of motorway.
