AN APPROACH is to be Ce made to the Government in a lom bid for West Cumberland to be given special treatment on CC bus subsidies. Allerdale District Council in Cumbria decided this last week after it Zfailed to be represented at a Traffic Commissioners hearifij ing when Cumberland (f) Motor Services Ltd was Vs granted its second fares 4 increase this year. a• An original intention for all local authorities in the region to combine to oppose the company's application when the other authorities withdrew their objections at a late stage.
At its meeting last week several members of the Allerdale Council urged the "municipalization" of bus services in the area.
