Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A lightweight eight-wheel chassis has been introduced by AEC Ltd. It carries the model name Marshal which has previously been applied to six-wheelers and is in effect a Mammoth Major with AV505 engine and a Marshal rear bogie. The result is a chassis weighing about lOcwt less than a comparable Mammoth Major eight-wheeler.

The usual Mammoth Major specification includes an AV69I, 183 bhp diesel and this chassis is sold for gross weights up to 28 tons. But the Marshal eight-wheeler will be sold for 24 tons gross only. The AV505 develops 151 bhp 135 gross and the drive is through a six-speed overdrive gearbox. There will be three wheelbases offered, 14ft 5.5in., I5f1 9.5in. and 17ft 2in., with the choice of singleor double-drive and a four-spring or two-spring bogie suspension.

An example of the model with the shortest wheelbase will be seen on the Anthony Hoists stand at the Commercial Motor Show.
