• Orders worth almost £350,000 were received by Leyland Motors Ltd., from UK bus operators last week. The orders were for a total of 90 Atlantean rear-engined doubledeckers, all to be fitted with bodies suitable for one-man operation.
Sheffield joint omnibus committee has called for 15 of the new vehicles and Sheffield transport department 40, all with 33ft-bodies by Park Royal Vehicles Ltd. Salford City Transport has ordered 20 30ft-models with Park Royal bodies while Bolton has ordered 15 30ftmodels with bodywork by East Lancashire Coach Builders Ltd.
