• The motoring organizations are carrying out a nationwide survey to find whether, as a result of financial stringency, local authorities have resorted to economies in highway maintenance which may produce road safety hazards.
When the survey has been completed the whole question, if necessary, will be taken up by the Standing Joint Committee with the Ministry of Transport.
