• Continental lorries are causing road deaths because of fatal blind spots, say Kent Police. The force is urging the Department of Transport to make it compulsory for Continental vehicles to have an extra mirror on the cab's righthand side: it is alleged that some road deaths occur when drivers in left-hand-drive cabs pull out.
The DTp has asked Kent Police to gather more information on the subject for scrutiny in a few months time.
