• We are a College of Further Education based in Morley, Leeds. It has been our experience that the best people to teach others are those who are well qualified and are good practitioners in their chosen subjects.
This practice comes from working at the sharp end in their subjects, and not from reading about it.
After reading a recent letter in your magazine we spotted a lecturer in the making. We interviewed the gentleman concerned and were suitably impressed by his experience, qualifications, commitment and enthusiasm. He is now employed on a part-time basis.
Our advice to any readers in the same situation is to persevere and think laterally — your experience and skills are valuable to someone.
