• A big drop in the number of van conversions, accompanied by an equivalent rise in the number of purpose-built bodies, is reported by Reeve Burgess managing director, David Quainton.
He says that in 1986 some 80% of his firm's PSV work had been on van conversions, and that this had fallen to 45% in 1987. He estimates that 1988 will see demand drop to 17%.
Reeve Burgess, based in Pilsley, specialises in mini and midibus bodywork and is a member of the Plaxtons group.
It claims a million turnover with an annual production of about 575 vehicles a year.
