The council has accepted the proposal from the staff, and has asked Scottish Secretary Malcolm Rifkind to approve the deal.
Grampian Transport, which also owns G E Mair Hire Services, is based in King Street, Aberdeen, and has a fleet of 250 vehicles which includes Atlantians, Olympians, singledeckers, coaches and 23-seater Metrorider midibuses.
