Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Motor dealer and contract hire group T Cowie has extended its PSV interests by buying coach distributor Hughes Daf and its sister company Whitehall Lodge, a hire purchase concern, both based in Yorkshire.

The acquisitions will cost Cowie up to £16.5 million. Hughes Daf was set up in 1946 and as well as selling new and used vehicles it has a fleet of 130 coaches on hire contracts. In 1985 it signed a deal with Daf to buy many Daf chassis exclusively.

Hughes Daf and Whitehall Lodge both operate from Cleckheaton, near Leeds. Cowie already owns North London-based Grey Green Coaches, which has a fleet of 44 buses and 67 coaches.
