THE FIRST new Ford Transit to be used for postbus services in Scotland has entered service on the Isle of Luing in Argyll.
Fitted with high-roof Dormobile bodywork, the 16seater has been purchased to meet growing passenger demand, and has replaced an 11seat Commer Spacevan, standard vehicle in the PO's minibus fleet.
The Luing route began in May 1976, and has carried 26,000 passengers, many of them children going to and from school.
