It's a special pleasure to be here to open this new bus station because buses are too often thought of as the Ugly Sisters of transport.
In the age of the electric train, the hovercraft and the universal private car they lack glamour.
They are too familiar to be exciting and they are associated in the public mind with long queues in the rain.
