The Tredegar Board of Guardians has petitioned the Merthyr Tydfil Council to grant licences to Western Services, Ltd. (per Mr. T. It. Jenkins, Newport and Abercarn), for a bus service between Merthyr and Abergavenny, to serve also the Rhymney Bridge and Tredegar districts. The application of the company, nevertheless, has been refused. An application to the Merthyr authority by Aberdare Motors, Ltd., for licences to ply on the Treharris-Bargoed route has
also been refused. Messrs. Jones Bros., Commercial Garage, Treharris, have been autherized by the Merthyr Council tq institute services between Treharris and Nelson to co-operate with services plying in the Btirgoed, Caerphilly and Hengold areas from Nelson.
