THE modern tendency in chassis del. sign, particularly where the chassis are intended for passenger work, is all towards the lowering of the platform height, and in this connection the illustration, which appears on this page, of a most attractive type of body recently fitted to a B-type Latil chassis to carry 30-cwt. loads, will no doubt , be of interest to many of our readers who are concerned with passenger transport.

The Latil chassis is an excellent ex

ample of the low-load-line vehicle, and in this case the builder of the body, E. G. French, of Baythorne End, near Halstead, Essex, has been able to keep the actual body platform under 2 ft. from the ground.

The body accommodates 14 passengers in comfort, although more can he carried if necessary. Incidentally, we are informed that Mr. French has had one of these chassis in use for upwards of two years, and has found it both satisfactory and economical, in spite of the
