• The Queen's Flight has taken delivery of five modified Scania P93-based Carmichael fire tenders.
The 4x4s double as support units for two RAF Wessex-4 helicopters. They and three BAe 146 jets were recently handed over to the Captain of The Queen's Flight, Air Cdre The Hon Timothy Elworthy CBE at RAF Benson, Oxon.
When the trucks enter service in December they will tour the country preparing landing sights for the aircraft.
The Queen's Flight is resposible for conveying the Royal household and other dignitaries to engagements throughout the world.
