Low Bridges. Starring the DTp this programme has an educational aspect and is inspired from the press release, Bridge Bashing — New Initiatives (published by the DTp). The release states: The Department of Transport has today given fresh advice to all local authorities and British Rail on the need for those bridges at risk of being struck by high vehicles to be closely and correctly signed.
As there are some 3,000 to 4,000 bridges at risk, a loud call to DUCK! is not regarded as adequate warning.
