LEYLAND have introduced a new computer system to back up their parts dealers network with instant information about prices and availability.
The computer — TABLET, Truck and Bus Leyparts Enquiry Terminal — has been installed at nine dealers as an experiment and if all goes well there will be a computer within every dealer's spares department soon.
The new system is available only for parts in the Leyland Blueline range built at Chorley but this is to be extended to cover Redline and AEC parts.
Tablet can give information on any of the 90,000 different parts lines at Chorley plus information on superceded lines and
