A London-based haulier has been ordered to pay £1,085 in fines and costs after using a vehicle without an Operator's Licence.

For the Vehicle Inspectorate, Anthony Ostrin said that in January an Isuzu pickup belonging to the company, with a gross plated weight of 6,200kg, was stopped in a roadside Check. An inspection of the vehicle revealed that no 0-licence identity disc was being displayed.
It was subsequently ascertained that the company did not hold an 0-licence--a matter which the VI considered to be serious as it threatened road safety.
For the company, David Forbes said they had not realised that they needed an 0-licence as they had been given bad advice about the situation.
