• John Ashmore, of North West Water has won Overdrive's Transport Manager of the Year award for the third successive year.
Runners-up in the competition, which is jointly sponsored by Mercedes-Benz, were: Philip Carroll (Touche Ross); Norman Emery (Tuffnells); Alan McLellan (Strathclyde Police); and Geoff Mitchie (Safeway).
Ashmore has since left North West Water, to become a transport consultant.
