David Burton is the new group sales manager of Stokeon-Trent-based trailer and body builder Don-Bur. He is the son of founder Donald Burton and joined the company in 1981, becoming sales manager early in 1990. He retains overall responsibility for national fleet sales.
• CUMMINS ENGINES SANFORD MACFARLANE
Ken Sanford has been appointd vice-president and
managing director of engine manufacturer Cummins. He succeeds Euan Macfarlane, who becomes non-executive chairman on 1 January.
• BEECH'S GARAGE SPEAKNVOOSNAM David Speak and Mark Woosnam have both joined ERF Stoke-on-Trent distributor Beech's Garage as sales executives.
Speak has worked for Iveco Ford dealer Peoples of Liverpool. Woosnam was previously with Foden and Rolls-Royce Diesels.
• OLLIS ASH Terry Ash has become senior traffic operator at 011is Transport of Avonmouth. He joins from a similar post at transport company All Gore.
• WATTS PEARSON/TOVEY/ RODE RICK Truck and tyre dealer Watts of Lydney has appointed Doug Pearson to the board of directors. Two new directors have joined the board of Watts Industrial Tyres, also part of the Watts group. They are Bob Tovey, who takes up the post of technical director manager, and Chris Roderick, who is now commercial director.
• TIP TRAILER RENTAL McAVOY Denise McAvoy has joined TIP Trailer Rental's Dagenham branch as area sales manager for East London and part of Essex.
She has worked in the freight industry for about 10 years at companies including . Seabourne Express, International Express and most recently at PSL Freight at Ma!don, Essex, where she was export sales manager.
• ROR BACON Axle manufacturer ROR has appointed Mike Bacon to the new post of operations director. He was previously managing director of the autornative division of Suter, which recondtions engines and gearboxes. Before that he was managing director of Medelec, part of the Vickers Group.
