ASSEMBLY of Magirus vehicles in the UK is to be phased-out. This was announced last week by Mr Frank Tinsdale, managing director of Magirus Deutz (Great Britain) Ltd. He was speaking during a visit of distributors and customers to the parent factory in Ulm, West Germany.

Present stock of old parts at the Winsford, Cheshire, factory will be gradually run down and imports of completed units will be begun. The change-over will be completed by the spring of next year. At Winsford completed vehicles will be altered to suit individual customer requirements in such areas as splitter box and sleeper cab options. This change does not effect the construction of vehicles which have always been imported complete.

The lightweight version of the Magirus "Club of Four" vehicle was on View in Ulm last week (picture page 28).
