Ltd. was granted the eight new A and B licences for which it applied last week (CM November 1) to enable it to rationalize the operations of the seven Manchester and Rochdale companies within its group, who will be surrendering their existing licences.
Certain changes were made to meet objections. The amended conditions will give greater operational flexibility, an additional A vehicle transferred from the B licence of Bennett Bros. (Bacup) Ltd. which, with 69 R. Griffiths Ltd. and Frank C. Jackson Ltd. vehicles, will carry out the group's parcels and smalls trunking operations under a common normal user. Another company, Gregory and Son (Transport) Ltd. will be able to assist with distributions locally with 15 Aand nine Blicensed vehicles operating within 40 miles.
