WE regret to record the deaths of Mr. John H. G. Barber, Mr. J. C. Nielson and Mr. George Warrington.

\Ir. Barber, who was 56, died last Friday after a short illness. He was managing director of Victory Transport Ltd., Southampton, a concern which he j in n 1933 after an impressive career at sea, and which he built up From three vehicles and six horses to the present extensive transport and warehousing business with more than 60 vehicles. Mr. Barber served for 10 years as local subarea chairman of the R.H.A., but will be rememtmrd by many as the national vicechairman who resigned because he could

not accept the Association's policy on nationalf6ation.

Mr. Nielson, of Small and Parkes Ltd., died recently at the age of 57. He had been with the Cape Asbestos group of companies for 26 years, during the latter part of which he was responsible for sales of friction materials to p.s.v. operators throughout the country.

Mr. Warrington, B.R.S. district manager, South Yorkshire and Lincoln district, died last week. He was an independent operator in pre-nationalization days and had been a prominent figure in road transport circles in the Sheffield area for many years.
