MERGER OF ASSOCIATIONS AGAIN POSSIBLE.

Yorkshire's proposals for an area or national amalgamation of associations was brought a step nearer achievement, on Tuesday night, when delegates of the Yorkshire road-transport associations met representatives of the national organizations at the offices of the Associated Road Operators, in London.

It is understood that the discussions were of an informal nature, but that matters of considerable importance to the industry were dealt with. Mr. R. W. Sev.111, national director of A.R.O., informed The Commercial Motor that no official statement would be issued.

Price Booklet Free.

With this issue of The Commercial Motor we include as a free supplement a booklet, of handy pocket size, giving the prices and distinguishing features of commercial chassis on the British market. A copy of this publication should be kept for reference by every sales representative and operatof.

Another National Association.

In our issue dated October 25 we gave a list of six national associations. To these shOuld be added the National Road Transport Employers Federation, 17, Water Lane, London, E.C.3, which is essentially a federation of transport employers' organizations with branches in many important centres throughout the country, not, however, all working tinder the name of the parent concern. The local sections carry on much of their own work, and it is mainly matters of political importance which are referred to headquarters.

M.T.O.A. Winding-up.

By a unanimous vote, members of the Manchester Transport Owners Association (which has, for some time, operated jointly with the Commercial Motor Users Association in that city) have decided on Voluntary winding-up. Mr. Kidson Taylor, " C.4., has been appointed liquidator.
