Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AN OWN E R-DRIVER has described his attempts to retrieve his trailer after the police mistakenly towed it away as an "utter nightmare", and is fighting for a refund.

Chris Daniel says he is a victim of DVLA heavyhandedness and is demanding back the £1 ,030 he had to spend to retrieve his 30ft tipping skeletal trailer.

The Redditch, Worcs-based driver parked his vehicle on a local industrial estate, but another haulier coupled an untaxed ERF truck cab to it and left it for the police to find. He has vanished. Daniel says it took him two weeks to establish what. had happened to his vehicle, then he had to pay 58 days' storage charges, plus a £160 recovery fee.

He says: "I'm chasing the police to get my money back."

When CM asked the DVLA if Daniel would be receiving a refund, we were told that it was a matter for West Mercia Police. A police spokeswoman says: "The matter of reclaiming is an issue for the DVLA."
