A SOUTH YORKSHIRE firm has lost its 0-licence after its director and transport manager failed to show to answer concerns over connections with companies that had their 0-licences revoked.
Doncaster-based LAG Logistics
had been called before Patrick Mulvenna, the North-Eastern Deputy Traffic Commissioner, at a Leeds disciplinary inquiry because of concerns that had arisen over a material change, repute of both the company and its proposed
transport manager and general professional competence.
The DTC said that an application had been made to add director Robert Salthouse to the licence as transport manager. Records at Companies House showed Salthouse had been appointed as a director in January of this year. Salthouse had been involved with a number of operators whose licences had been revoked. R Salthouse & Son's licence was revoked in September 2004, and Salthouse was disqualified from holding an 0-licence for 12 months. Savage had been the transport manager of Lincolnshire Haulage Contractors, whose licence was revoked in August 2004, and Tracey Morton, its director, was disqualified from holding an 0-licence indefinitely. He had also been the transport manager of Witham Commercials, whose licence was revoked at a public inquiry in October 2004, while the Traffic Commissioner disqualified both the company and its director, Andrew Taylor, indefinitely.
