• ZF has commenced production of its latest transmission system, an automated unit specifically designed for heavy-duty applications. The ZF-TC Tronic is effectively a ; combination of the 12-speed auto matedautomated shift AS ironic with ZF's WSK440 torque converter and a conventional dry plate clutch. Suitable for heavy haulage operation up to 250 tonnes, it has a torque capacity of over 2,700Nm. Operation can either be semi-automatic, with chitchless man ual shifts, or fully automated. The unit incorporates a retarder, which provides 1,600Nm of braking torque.
