• A 7-ton truck stolen from Dundee last week has been recovered 450 miles away on A4—minus 500.000 cigarettes, a £5000 load. The vehicle is in the pale blue livery of Robert Ower Ltd. A £1000 reward has been offered for Information leading to conviction of the thieves.
The robbery, discovered when an employee opened the Robert Ower garage
at Gray St, Lochee, on April 27, was described as -cool—the biggest in Dundee for years", Thieves helped themselves to whisky from another lorry before driving off.
Dundee police have appealed for information from anyone who saw the canvas-covered truck; its registration number is DYJ 113D; fleet number 12.
