THE Motor Agents Association has criticised the £10 fee for calibrating and sealing tachographs and is looking for a fee nearer £20.

Representatives of the MAA's National Truck Com mittee have been to the Department of Transport to press for an increase in the "grossly inadequate" fee.

Committee chairman Derek Hickman says that with a pre sent charge-out rate averaging £10 an hour and approved tachograph testing centres costing anything from £15,000 to £20,000 to establish, the cost is "unacceptably low".
