DESPITE hiccups in the production of the Leyland Titan, wol is forging ahead on the body-on Olympian (B45) double-del project.
Two ECW-bodied prototypes have been built. Both have 1 tan-inspired bodies, one with a VRT-style curved windscree the other — for Ribble Motor Services — a Titan-style flat fror Both are low-height models.
Alexander is to build two, a highbridge Leyland-engined m del for use by Greater Glasgow PTE, and the second a lol height Gardner-powered prototype for Scottish Bus Group. Ti latter especially seems likely to buy Olympian in quantity.
Northern Counties is also involved at the prototype stag and will build one for Greater Manchester Transport.
Leyland proposes to phase out Fleetline, VRT, and Atlanteiin that order, starting this year.
