Safe Drivers: Awards for safe driving were won by 571 drivers of the Express Dairy, Ltd.. in 1956. Mileage covered was. 16.5m. Accidents of all kinds averaged one per 66,000 miles, and blameworthy accidents one per 250.000 miles.

Leyland Output lip: During the first eight weeks of this year, output of Leyland Motors, Ltd.. was almost 16 per cent. higher than in the comparable period of 1956, a record year for production. More than 65 per cent, of the vehicles produced were for export.

Housing Workers: The Maudslay Motor Co., Ltd., Alcester. plan to build houses near their factory for employees to buy or rent. Seventy per cent, of the 1,0011 Maudslay workers travel a long way to work, and the company spend £1,500 a year on providing a bus service.

Facing Difficulties: Because of the difficulties of the motor industry. Rootes Motors, Ltd.. have incurred losses during the first six months of the current financial year, but ample reserves enable a dividend to be paid on the 5 per cent. redeemable cumulative preference shares.
