Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Gloucester County Council has taken its second Bedford MT26-30 6x6 chassis fitted with Danish Epoke gritter bodywork.

The vehicle is powered by the 300hp (224kW) Perkins Peregrine 8.7 litre chargecooled diesel engine, driving through a Fuller 9-speed range change gearbox, Steyr two-speed transfer box and Rockwell drive axles.

The front steer is an SV1 4514 hub reduction axle with a pair of Hendrickson Norde rubber sprung RT153E hypoid units. Inter and cross axle difflocks are standard.

Bunce of Ashbury fitted the Epoke salt spreader gear which uses a trailing fifth wheel for hydraulic power with a unique metering system linked to the underslung distribution belt.

Bedford will display a 6x6 gritter vehicle at the Waste Management Show in Torbay.
