Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Plaxton and Optare are moving in to divide the spoils at Metro Cammell Weymann. Plaxton, which has been interested in MCW for some weeks (CM 13-19 April), appears to be zeroing in on MCW's Metrobus doubledecker business, while Optare may well go for the Metrorider midi-bus operation, thereby swallowing up one of its major competitors.

"We still don't know anything officially, but both Plaxton and Optare have been on-site and are serious contenders," says MCW, which now expects a sale to be conducted by the middle of this month.
