THE INSTITUTION of Mechanical Engineers and Institution of Production Engineers intend to amalgamate.
No new name has yet been decided for the single body that will result from the amalgamation.
The I Mech E currently has 75,500 members of all categories, nearly 12,000 of which are overseas, while the I Prod E has 19,500 members of all categories, 3,650 of which are overseas.
