Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A range of coloured dampproofing materials introduced by Flamenco (Safety Products) are water-based and can be used in water-proofing treatment of new roofing and walls or for the renovation and decoration of older buildings. It is claimed that the coatings can be successfully applied to almost every type of surface, including asbestos, cement, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, bituminized felt, wood, slate and tile.

The surface preparation required is said to be minimal, removal of rust and loose material being all that is necessary. A slightly damp surface is acceptable. Cracks and joints can be covered using a special nylon interwoven scrim, supplied with the coatings. The material is sufficiently flexible to withstand extremes of temperature.

Application is by brush or spray, and only one coat is necessary for normal protection. The colour range comprises white, pale yellow, mushroom, pale blue, chromium green, red oxide, light grey, dark grey and black. According to the maker no maintenance is required over a number of years.

Made by: Flamenco (Safety Products) Ltd, High Street, Knaresborough, Yorkshire.
