Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

from Michelin by Glbb Gram

• The XZA, a new tyre from Michelin, has been developed specifically to meet the needs of the middle and long-distance operator who regularly uses motorways. Its main tread grooves have parallel sides so that as wear takes place the grooves stay open and thus retain their grip.

Compared with current tyres the XZA's tread is broader and flatter giving a longer contact patch with the road and thus better road-holding.

The main tread grooves also channel away water very effectively and the rounded shoulders give the tyre extra stability when cornering.

The XZA has been designed to allow recutting and the tyre can also be rebuilt by the Michelin Remix process in the new tread pattern. It is available on the replacement market in tubed form, 9.00-20 and D.20, and in tubeless form in the near future as 10-22.5 and 11-22.5 Prices are up 7+ per cent on the basic X tyre but Michelin claims that in fleet use the improvement in mileage will be of the order of at least 25 per cent so that on a cost per mile basis the new XZA is the cheapest heavy tyre it has yet produced.
