• Amendments to the Motor Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1973 are proposed by the Department of the Environment in a draft statutory instrument circulated for comment. The effect of these amendments will be to exempt certain vehicles from the requirements of the Regulations which relate to brakes, strength of side door latches and hinges, construction . of petrol tank, mirrors, warning instruments, radio interference suppression, and emission of smoke or vapour.
