Among other Angagements, they will be visiting the National Truck and Trailer Equipment Show in Los Angeles next week.

THE HoN. E. P. OKOYA, Minister Of Transport, and DR. THE HON. W. N. ONLTBOGU, Minister of Development, of the Eastern Regional Government of Nigeria, are due to arrive in London on June 10, in connection with the recruitment of civil engineers for Nigeria. MR. J. W. WATKINS has been appointed a full-time member of the British Transport Commission. Mr. Watkins, who is 65, will relinquish his post of general manager of the London Midland Region of British Railways on assuming his new duties.

MR. H. V. SCHOFIELD, sales director of the Chloride Electrical Storage Co., Ltd., has retired from active duties but retains his seat on the board. He joined the company in 1914 and became a director in 1942. MR. EDWARD POWELL, director and sales manager of Chloride Batteries, Ltd., since 1951, has become general sales manager of the group. MR. A. C. STEWART, who became assistant sales manager last year, now assumes full responsibility as sales manager of Chloride Batteries, Ltd.

NEW INDIA DEVELOPMENTS

ANEW technical centre, and extensions to the existing factory of the India Tyre and Rubber Co., Ltd., at Inchinnan, were officially opened by Lord Bilsland last Friday. The technical centre, which is designed to test raw materials and tyre components, comprises a design department and chemical and physical laboratories.
