Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Reading recently that the most out of touch and ill-informed minister in Parliament was being sent to look after Scottish affairs, I thought that we may have a chance in talking to an MP who shares the same planet which we live on.

But then on page two an MP by the name of Patricia Hewitt was trying to tell those in haulage why diesel is so expensive, saying it will reduce pollution and improve air quality ( CM1-7 July).

Of course she expects us to believe the massive tax on fuel is nothing to de with contributing to the Treasury, and that the present Government has hoisted fuel tax in the last two Budgets, purely for the quality of air.

The air is very thin in Cambridgeshire...I've just seen a pig fly over and almost crash with an RAF Tornado on its way back from Kosovo. I wonder how much that has cost this country? What is the difference between 5,000 trucks driving at fuel prices of 30p/lit and 5,000 trucks driving at 72p/ht? Air quality? Come off it!
