ONE voice which has rung out in the defence of road haulage in the political arena over the past week or two has been that of Peter Walker, the Tories' Shadow Minister of Transport, and MP for Worcester since 1961. In branding Mrs. Castle's attacks as a "phoney war" and saying that she was clearly aiming to cripple private road haulage to let nationalization in, he has undoubtedly made more friends in the haulage industry.
