FAA TWO-LEVEL coach and bus station has been built at Liverpool by Ribble Motor Services, Ltd. An inspection took place on Tuesday, The need for a station was first recognized in 1938, but it was not possible to proceed with appropriate works until August, 1956.

Development, of both stage-carriage and express services, and the employment of larger vehicles, made it necessary for the greatest possible use to be made of the 1,435 sq.-yd. site.

By taking advantage of the contour of the land, it has been possible to build, 10 ft above the 2,707-sq.-yd. bus station, a coach station of 1,353 sq. yd. This is bridged over the section occupied by the bus station passenger platform, A twostorey office block covers 728 sq. yd, A maintenance and servicing bay has been provided. It has two pits, and equipment includes •a new high-powered vacuum cleaner and rubbish receptacle. The bus station has 12 loading positions and is likely to deal with 5m. passenger departures a year, whilst the coach station can accommodate 15 vehicles at a time.
