A PPLICATIONS by Crosville Motor Services, Ltd., for new express 'services from Anglesey to the Trawsfynydd atomic site, were withdrawn at Llandudno, last week, after Mr. J. Niblock, the company's traffic manager, told the North Western Traffic Commissioners that Atomic Power Construction, Ltd.. had given his company contracts for services throughout the North Cambrian area.
An application by an independent operator, Mr. D. fr. Rowlands, Amlwch. Anglesey, for an express service between Cemaes Bay and Trawsfynydd, opposed by Crosville, was refused for want of prosecution. The applications were originally heard in December, 1958, but
c4 they were then deferred as premature.
Mr. Niblock said that Atomic Power sought quotations for transport and Crosville were the successful applicants. Some 16 vehicles were operating under contract from widely separated plaints in North Wales. No charge was made on employees for transport and road service licences would be superfluous.
A letter from Atomic Power stated that it was unlikely that they would require further workers from Anglesey as the labour force in Merioneth had proved adequate.
Approving the withdrawals, Mr. F. Williamson, chairman, said that if Heti-ices were required in the future further applications could be made.
